KICK OFF!
KICK OFF!

Hertha legend "Zecke" predicts Hertha's Bundesliga games! This time: Mainz 05.
Berlin - Every football club has its legend. Without doubt Hertha BSC's is Andreas "Zecke" Neuendorf. He has blue and white blood coursing through his veins. He has been at Hertha for 15 years, making 278 appearances, scoring 28 goals in the process. Everyone knows he has his heart in the right place and is a true "Berliner" if ever there was one. This season "Zecke has become a "football pensioner" working within the club since hanging up his boots last term. He is still very opinionated and will tell us all how he sees his beloved Hertha's games going before each matchday in the 2014/15 season. No doubt he will play with his cards on the table. He will be honest, open and probably sometimes a little tongue in cheek - typical "Zecke"! So what does that mean for opponents? Watch out! ""Zecke" will pull no punches and take no prisoners as he tells it as it is... Read here his feelings ahead of matchday 3.
"Mainz, how they sing and laugh, as the saying goes. They can do that in our stadium on Saturday - no problem. But when it comes to the points up for grabs: We want all three. Reflecting on the start of the season I must say:
The 2-2 draw with Werder Bremen on matchday 1 still hurts. I watched us perform well in Leverkusen without having anything to show for our efforts after 90 minutes. I know that the lads are burning for their first home win of the season. They will enjoy considerable support from new signings Salomon Kalou. Those acquisitions have brought more class to the team.
We have a really strong side this season, especially when I look at the quality sat on the bench and next to me in the stands. Other teams would give a lot to have such players at their disposal. Many of them would be automatic first team choices in most teams. In a nutshell: We have a very strong team and a top coach. But the burning question is: How do we beat Mainz?
I reckon we will have to score a goal more than they do ;) And we will! Saturday's visitors to the Olympic stadium had a sensational 2013/14 season. They qualified for the Europa League only to exit the competition during the opening stages. They were also beaten in round 1 of the 2014/15 DFB Cup. They travel to Berlin winless: And that is how they will leave the capital city too!
After long spells under cult-coaches Klopp and Tuchel I can't wait to see how they fare under new boss Kasper Hjulmand. They were more than busy during the transfer window, letting go the likes of Müller and Choupo-Moting to name but two. None of their current team has ever scored in Berlin. More of the same if you don’t mind! Statistics don't lie and they tell us that we have not lost any of our last five games against Mainz. Lets keep that up and beat them this time around. I as always will be there cheering the lads on and I hope you all will be too.
