Hertha legend 'Zecke' tells us how he thinks the lads will do! This time: Borussia Mönchengladbach away!
'Zecke', a Hertha player for 15 years gives us his view on opponents ahead of each Bundesliga matchday.
We can be happy with our performances in the last two games. Good showings to start us off in the pre-Christmas period. The away win Köln (regardless of how…). The recent home loss to Bayern Munich felt to us more like a draw. Now it is up to us to carry on the performance from the last 20 minutes of the Bayern clash against Borussia Mönchengladbach – preferably with a little more accuracy in front of goal.
Gladbach is an experienced side who have spent the last few seasons in the upper third of the Bundesliga table. They really are a useful side; the club has done a lot right. A good example of that is of course their playmaker Raffael who used to play for us. Gladbach have however also signed other high quality men who include amongst many others Kramer, Kruse and Hahn.
Gladbach have developed a perfect way to switch from defence to attack in the blink of an eye, mainly because of the tempo players they have in midfield. I reckon I see that as a chance for us. Let them have more possession but hit them on the break, beating them at their own game.
Obviously we go there the underdogs. They may have lost their last three games, but that doesn’t bother a team of their quality much. They will face us with fire in their bellies, determined to keep all three points there.
That can only mean for us: Meet them head on! We have to do the same in the other vour game we play between now and the qwinter break. To take a point home from Gladbach would be a fine result. Hahohe!
