Hertha legend 'Zecke' Neuendorf tells us how he thinks the lads will do! This time: FC Schalke 04!
Berlin - 'Zecke', 15 years a Herha player, looks ahead to each matchday and tells us how things might turn out.
"Yes, our last two games weren't bad - but I don't want to dish out too much praise. Such thinga have a habit of coming back to bite you. But what can I say: I can't wait for Saturday's game. The visitors from Gelsenkirchen will be anything but easy to play. They performed sensationally away to Real Madrid in midweek, and only a solitary goal prevented them from knocking the "Galacticos" out of the Champions League.
As far as I'm concerned Schalke can play well against us on Saturday as long as they return home empty handed. As our coach Pál Dárdai has predicted, we cannot expect a pretty game. What we all do expect however, is maximum effort for the full 90 minutes and not to give the ball away too easily. That's what all Hertha fans want to see. We will see how far it takes us.
Some will say that the fact that Schalke were in action in Spain in midweek is an advantage for Hertha. I say: Not true! The Ruhr Valley side have the squad to cope with playing two games per week, and as everyone can see, hungry young talents continue to come through their ranks. Their best player is of course Kevin Prince Boateng - and not just because he used to play for us and hails from Berlin. Once a Herthaner always a Herthaner ;-)
Its gonna be exciting! I agreed with our coach when he said that annoying the big sides is fun. Especially in front of a large crowd in our "sitting room" in Berlin with all of our amazing fans right behind us. So lets go Hertha. Fight hard and win!"
