Hertha legend 'Zecke' Neuendorf tells us how he thinks the lads will do! This time: Cologne!
Berlin - 'Zecke', 15 years a Herha player, looks ahead to each matchday and tells us how things might turn out.
"Final straight! The hottest part of the season is well any truly upon us. Only six Bundesliga games to go and our beloved Hertha on a superb six-game unbeaten run. Can we make it seven at home to Cologne on Saturday? In truth things are not looking too shabby! Our lads won't let anyone undo the hard work they have been putting in. The team has taken a lot of head coach Pal Dardai's never give up and fight until the final whistle approach he was so famous for as a player. That is the reason for our good run - a run which boosts everyone to do with the club!
What is even more encouraging is the fact that when we build up from the back we have the ability to turn or decide games in our favour. We collected four points against Paderborn and Hannover following a strong performance during the latter stages of the games. Now surely everyone understands how crucial training has been in recent weeks. When you have someone in yor side with the inner-motor of Per Skjelbred, who runs 10 or 11 kilometres for you per game it is more than a coach can ask for.
Now we face Cologne: Carry on the good work! An uncomfortable opponent who don't have 33 points on their account for nothing. They have so far avoided the relegation zone this season. We will probably once again have to be patient until the goals come. In Valentin Stocker we have a man who almost specialises in late goals. But personally I could live with taking a point. The motto for the day has to be: "If you can't win the game just make sure you don't lose." Things should work out well following our positive recent run. Ha Ho He, Hertha BSC!"
