Hertha legend 'Zecke' says how he thinks the lads will do! This time: Eintracht Frankfurt!
Berlin - 'Zecke', 15 years a Hertha player, looks ahead to each matchday and tells us how things might turn out.
"It's here! The final home game of the season, and Frankfurt are the visitors. Time for a home win which would probably ensure top flight football next season. We took nothing from our last three games, but other teams have lost against Bayern, Mönchengladbach and Dortmund as well. Shame the lads weren't rewarded for their huge efforts.
Looking back doesn't help in football, which is why we now solely focus on the visit of Frankfurt to the Olympic stadium. It is all about securing the points that will allow us to end our season on a calm note. We still have it in our own hands, thanks to the fine seven-game unbeaten run before the last three defeats. But one thing is for sure: It won't be easy against Eintracht. We saw what they are capable of when we played them earlier in the season. They can be attacked at the back, but are usually good for a goal up front. They showed against Hoffenheim last time out that they can compensate for the painful loss of their top scorer Alex Meier So watch out Hertha!
But we must not kid ourselves or show them too much respect. We need to get back to the form displayed during our unbeaten run: Keeping things tight at the back, win the second ball and quickly switch to attack. We have created chances in every game, but now it is crucial that we take them. We have a quick alternative for out wide in Roy Beerens. And finally, with a full Olympic stadium behind us, I view the clash with optimism.
