Souza’s Brazil draw 2-2 in U20s Copa America opener

Allan Souza and the Brazil U20s have started their tournament with a draw against the hosts

Berlin – Allan Souza and the Brazil U20s national side will play their first game of the Copa America on Tuesday, as they face Ecuador at 2.30 CET. The Seleção have five matches on their schedule, and after their opening match will come up against Uruguay (03/02/17), Venezuela (05/02/17), the reigning champions Argentina (09/02/17) and Colombia (11/02/17).

19-year-old Souza and his teammates qualified for the tournament with two wins, a draw and a loss in their group. In their 3-2 win over Paraguay, Hertha’s No. 20 played the full 90 minutes, while he played 20 minutes against Chile. The winner of the finals, which works like a round robin tournament, will be crowned champions. The top two teams will qualify for the Olympic Games, while the best four will qualify for the 2017 U20s World Cup in South Korea.

However, the young midfielder watched from the bench as his team went 2-0 up inside 25 minutes but were pegged back to 2-2 by the hosts.
