Line Up
There were two changes from the 2-0 defeat to Schalke 04 last week, with Per Skjelbred and Vladimir Darida replacing Fabian Lustenberger and Valentin Stocker.
Bayern Munich made three changes from their  5-1 midweek Champions League win over Arsenal, with Bernat, Kimmich and Müller coming in for Martinez, Alonso and Lewandowski.
Match report
Hertha began the game with more momentum and took the initiative from the first minute, with Marvin Plattenhardt and Vedad Ibisevic both creating early chances. They were rewarded just after the 20 minute mark when Plattenhardt’s free kick was turned in by Ibisevic at the near post. Bayern grew stronger, thereafter, enjoying more possession and looking to pose the Hertha defence questions. But the blue and white wall remained firm and disciplined, seeing the game out to half time.
Hertha picked up where they had left off in the first half after the break and despite having to deal with a determined and unsatisfied visiting team, remained compact at the back. Rune Jarstein was called into action a couple of times but it was the home side who had the best chances. Ibisevic, Genki Haraguchi and Vladimir Darida all wasted chances to increase the lead. Bayern kept pressing until the end, and were rewarded in the sixth minute of injury time when Lewandowski equalised with the final kick off the game.
Overview
Hertha BSC now have 34 points after 21 games and move to sixth in the table for the time being.
Pal Dardai’s side are back in action next Saturday with a home game against Eintracht Frankfurt.
