Weiser and Stocker return to training!

Weiser and Stocker return to training!

The start of the new training week saw Mitchell Weiser and Valentin Stocker return to full team training - and both will be options for the game against RB Leipzig this Saturday.
Berlin- It had become a familiar sight to see the Schenckendorfplatz lacking somewhat in the players department in recent weeks, but Tuesday was a different story for Pal Dardai and his squad. Some had been out a while, some not so long. Both Mitchell Weiser and Valentin Stocker trained with the first team fully after their injuries. “Mitch had a lot of fun and did not get involved in any antics. Valentin had lost none of his fitness despite missing two week,” noted a satisfied Pal Dardai after watching both men complete the session unscathed.
Options for RB Leipzig
Both Weiser and Stocker are now in the running to be a part of this weekend’s big fixture with RB Leipzig. “We could be looking at a half hour run out for them both,” said an optimistic coach. In the case of Weiser though, Dardai is not getting carried away. “Any sudden movement could be dangerous, so there is still some risk involved.”
But there were still some absentees from the first training session of the week, although the sight of Peter Pekarik training individually after suffering a dead leg against Werder was no bad thing for Dardai. “He’ll be back with us properly on Wednesday,” said the Hungarian. There are still however unknown return dates for John Brooks and Marvin Plattenhardt. “We’re doing everything we can to get them fit as soon as possible, they may even be able to train this week,” remarked Dardai so the possibility of the Blue and Whites squad being back to almost full capacity by the end of the week remains. When RB Leipzig arrive in Berlin on Saturday for the evening kick off, Dardai will want to be able to rely on all his men. Wednesday will see the squad train twice more (at 10:00 and 15:30CEST), and the week will be rounded off with two closed sessions - one each on Thursday and Friday.
