Mittelstädt and Torunarigha travel with the U20 World Cup squad

Following the end of the season, Hertha’s Maximilian Mittelstädt and Jordan Torunarigha will travel to South Korea with Germany’s U20 squad to play in the World Cup

Berlin – Maximilian Mittelstädt and Jordan Torunarigha are two players Pál Dárdai can’t do without based on the injuries that the squad is currently has to deal with. Both players are expected to help the team achieve their goal of playing in the Europa League next season in their upcoming games against Darmstadt 98 (13/05/17) and Bayer Leverkusen (20/05/17). “We still need Maxi and Jordan,” said chairman Michael Preetz.

The youngsters are similarly important for the Germany U20s as they are for their domestic side, and this will be the case when they take part in the U20 World Cup on the 20th of May in South Korea. Guido Streichsbier’s team will face Venezuela (20/05/17), Mexico (23/05/17), and Vanuatu (26/05/17) in Group B of the competition. The duo will travel from Berlin after Matchday 34 to join up with their team, as they look to make an impact in the international competition.
