Cup duel with Hansa Rostock

Hertha BSC will take on Hansa Rostock in the first round proper of the DFB Cup. The draw was made at the Deutsches Fußballmuseum in Dortmund. 

The first decision for next season has officially been made. Hertha BSC face Hansa Rostock in their first competitive match of the 2017/18 season in the DFB Cup first round. DFB President Reinhard Grindel and former Germany international and DFB Cup winner Sebastian Kehl completed the draw. “This is an attractive match for us even though it will not be an easy one. Hansa Rostock were a Bundesliga club for a long time and play in front of a very passionate set of fans,” said chief executive Michael Preetz. The match will take place some time between 11^th and 14^th August. It was already decided ahead of the draw that Hertha would be involved as a Bundesliga side. In addition, Hertha BSC were always set to go away to whoever they were drawn to face.

The draws in future will continue to always be conducted on the Sunday after each round of the tournament at 18:00 CEST.
