Hertha BSC to play pre-season tournament in Duisberg

Berlin – Wie schon im Vorjahr nimmt Hertha BSC am 'Cup der Traditionen' teil, um sich optimal auf die Saison 2017/18 vorzubereiten. Am 23. Juli 2017 kämpft die Mannschaft von Pál Dárdai in einem namhaften Teilnehmerfeld mit den Traditionsmannschaften MSV Duisburg, Aston Villa (England) und dem FC Malaga (Spanien) um die Titelverteidigung. Im Vorjahresturnier setzten sich die Blau-Weißen gegen den FC Nantes aus Frankreich und den Gastgeber aus Duisburg durch.

Bei der Neuauflage des Wettkampfs wartet an diesem Sommersonntag Ende Juli zunächst der FC Malaga. Das Halbfinalspiel gegen den ehemaligen spanischen Europapokalteilnehmer beginnt um 14.00 Uhr. Die Spielzeit gegen den Elftplatzierten der abgelaufenen Saison beträgt einmal 45 Minuten. Sollte es danach unentschieden stehen, fällt die Entscheidung im Elfmeterschießen. Bereits eine Stunde eher steigt die Partie zwischen Zweitliga-Aufsteiger Duisburg und Aston Villa. Ab 15.00 Uhr treten die beiden Verlierer der Begegnungen gegeneinander an, eine Stunde später bestreiten die Gewinner der Partien das Finale um den Turniersieg. Einlass in die 'schauinsland-reisen-arena' ist um 12.00

Like last year, Hertha BSC will be a part of the 'Cup der Traditionen' as part of their pre-season preparations for the 2017/18 campaign. On 23rd July, Pál Dárdai's team will join be joined by traditional side MSV Duisberg, English team Aston Villa and FC Malaga from Spain as they aim to defend their title. In the 2016's tournament, the blue and whites faced French team FC Nantes as well as hosts Duisberg.

The new edition of the competition will take place at the end of July, with Hertha coming up first against FC Malaga. The semi final match against the Spanish team will kick off at 14:00 CEST. The game will last for 45 minutes, and proceed to penalties if undecided in that time. One hour before that, hosts Duisberg will play Aston Villa. From 15:00, the two losing sides will play against one another in a third-place play-off, with the two winners then meeting an hour later. Entrance to the 'schauinsland-reisen-arena' starts from 12:00, and ticket information will be available shortly.
