Körber loaned to Münster

Nils Körber will be goalkeeping for third-tier side Preußen Münster in the upcoming season. The 20-year-old will return to Berlin at the end of the spell.
Berlin – It’s no secret that Hertha BSC have many a talented goalkeeper within their ranks. Marius Gersbeck and Nils Körber showed tremendous growth throughout training last year, and their performances for the U23 side caught the attention of many. The former of the two goalkeepers demonstrated his potential by being graded as the best goalkeeper for third-tier side VfL Osnabrück, and now the latter will follow in his footsteps by going out on loan. It’s been confirmed that Körber will go out on loan to SC Preußen Münster for the 2017/18 season, who will be playing in the third tier of German football. “Nils has huge potential and has consistently proved that when playing for our Regionalliga team. Now he has the opportunity to play for a team in the league above, and continue to develop with an ambitious 3. Liga side,” said general manager Michael Preetz.
20-year-old Körber has been with us since 2011 and was an important player for all the youth teams he has played for. The Berlin-born keeper was rewarded with a professional contract in 2015, which was extended in 2016. Last season the young shot-stopper played 15 games in the Regionalliga, and would have played more had he not been forced into an almost six-month-long injury break due to a torn meniscus. Körber featured in Pál Dárdai’s squad twice in the season just gone. Overall, the Germany youth international has played 39 Regionalliga games for Hertha and been on the bench for the first team seven times.
