Saturday start for Hertha on Bundesliga matchday 1

Berlin- The 55th Bundesliga season gets underway in 38 days! It was already known that Hertha would kick off the season at home but the opening fixture now has a date and time. It will be a Saturday 15:30 kick off for Pal Dardai’s men on the first weekend against VfB Stuttgart. There will not be long to wait until the first evening start however, with Hertha facing Dortmund a week later at 18:00.

After the first international break Hertha will play on Sunday for the first time, at home to Bremen at 15:30 before another Sunday fixture on matchday 4 away in Hoffenheim at 13:30. The first midweek Bundesliga fixture sees Bayer Leverkusen visit the Olympiastadion on Tuesday 20 September at 20:30 and the final confirmed fixture date so far is away in Mainz at 15:30 on Saturday 23 September.

Two successive home games

The biggest fixture of the season against Bayern Munich will be on Matchday 7, before another international break at the beginning of October. Schalke visit when the Bundesliga returns for a second successive home league game, before a trip to fellow Europa League qualifiers Freiburg. Hamburger SV are next to visit the Olympiastadion before Dardai’s men travel to Wolfsburg and Gladbach arrive in the capital. An away day in Köln follows that with a home game against Eintracht Frankfurt next up. Augsburg host Hertha BSC on Matchday 15 and the first half of the season will be rounded out with a home game with Hannover 96 and a trip to last year’s runners up RB Leipzig.

Dates to be confirmed. 

The return fixtures (played out in the same order) will take place from the weekend of January 12, with an international break on the weekend of March 23. The final day of the season well be on May 12 2018, and Hertha will also find many fixtures re-arranged from a Saturday at 15:30 thanks to their Europa League group stage commitments. Final dates and times for all matchdays will be decided in due course.
