Statement from Hertha Berlin

Statement from Hertha Berlin

Regarding the issues experienced by fans at the game with Atheltic Club last night.
Hertha Berlin would like to apologise for the extended waiting times experienced by fans attempting to get into the Olympiastadion for last nigt’s Europa League clash with Athletic Club de Bilbao. For those affected, the club would like to offer compensation.
Berlin- Over 28,000 people were in the Olympiastadion on Thursday to watch Hertha kick off their UEFA Europa League campaign and the 0-0 draw witnessed a great atmosphere throughout. While there were no problems gaining access to the ground for those with tickets from the Südtor (South Gate), there was an issue at the Osttor (East Gate). The number of spectators expected to come through the security gates was also exceeded. In addition to this a technical fault with the ticket barriers at the Osttor also led to extended waiting times outside of the ground. We would like to apologise to all of those affected by the resulting delay.
By way of compensation we would like to invite all fans affected by the issues with the ticket barrier to our next UEFA Europa League home game against Zorya on November 2. We will be in touch with the fans concerned by email shortly.
