"Delighted with the draw"

"Delighted with the draw"

Players and coaches react to the home point with Bayern Munich on Sunday.
Berlin – Two quick second half goals from Ondrej Duda and Salomon Kalou saw Hertha come back and grab a share oft he spoils in the Olympiastadion. Here’s how those involved reacted to the Matchday 7 fixture.
Pál Dárdai: I delighted we got it back to 2-2 and responded in the way that we did. We went into the game with a winning attitude. Although it was frustrating to concede when we did after starting the game well, we needed to defend better there. We talked about that at the break and turned it around. Then we came straight out and conceded the second. That was not ideal but we showed fantastic character to react like we did. We wanted to be fresh on the wings and that’s why we started with Genki Haraguchi. He has repaid the faith shown in him today. I think the draw is a fair reflection of the game. We’ll go again in two weeks against Schalke.
Ondrej Duda: The most important thing is we got a point against Bayern. My goal is a side note. It would have been a bigger problem if I had not had scored. We showed them far too much respect in the first half. The boss said we had to go in without fear at half time and as a result of that we went after those two goals.
Marvin Plattenhardt: It was fun to be out there today. We weren’t alert enough at the start of both halves and we conceded two avoidable goals. Not many people would have backed us from 0-2 down but we kept pressing and were so much sharper going forward. The team reacted so well, worked hard and we deserved a point. What Genki did for that second goal was just absolutely world class. We always see what he can do in training and he showed that today – we could do with that more often!
Valentino Lazaro:
When you go 2-0 down it’s not always the case that you respond. After fighting like we did we definitely deserved to take something from the match. It was a really cool game. I was a bit hectic when I came on but it settled down after that because we made sure we kept the door closed. We wanted to bounce back after Thursday and we only had thoughts of winning the game from the beginning. We are very happy with the result.
Karim Rekik: A draw with Bayern is never a bad result. We could have defended the goals we conceded a bit better but we saw our chances as we pressed more. They are a world class team but they are also human beings who can make mistakes. Coming back like that will be big for our confidence, and I can only play the team a big compliment for that. Genki Haraguchi is a super player who has surprised us all with the actions again. He put on a fantastic display.
