Plattenhardt one of 12 Hertha boys called up for national duty

The Bundesliga will take a short break ahead of the final season run-in after this weekend, as a two week international break ahead of this summer’s world cup takes priority. The Hertha boys will once again be spread around the globe representing their countries.
Berlin – Of the 12 players from Pál Dárdai’s squad to be selected for their countries, Marvin Plattenhardt will definitely have the shortest journey. The left back has been named in the 23-man Germany squad to face Spain and Brazil in the next two weeks. After a quick journey south to play Spain in Düsseldorf, Platts will be in line to make an appearance against five time world cup champions, which will take place in a stadium very well known by Marvin – the Olympiastadion in Berlin! 
Duell zweier Herthaner
Friday (March 23rd) will see two Hertha boys come up against each other, as Norway and Rune Jarstein play Mathew Leckie’s Australia in Oslo. The following Monday will see the Hertha goalkeeper come up against Albania before Leckie and the Socceroos take on Colombia in London a day later. 
Peter Pekarik and Ondrej Duda will be in the Slovakia squad set to take on the UAE on Thursday – part oft he King’s Cup taking place in Thailand. Vladimir Darida’s jouney is longer, with Vladi traveling to the Far East to play Uruguay in the China Cup, before a meeting with either Wales or China. Valentino Lazaro and Austria will play Slovenia in Klagenfurt on Friday, March 23rd.
Youth team selections
A series of youth national teams are also in action next week. Jordan Torunarigha well face Israel and Kosovo with the Germany under-21s, as they loko to secure European championship qualification, while Maxi Mittelstädt and Sidney Friede will play against Portugal and Poland over the international break weekend for the Germany under-20s. Florian Baak and Arne Maier have been selected to play for the under-19s. They are also looking to book European qualification, with games against Scotland on Wednesday 21st, Norway
