The successful forward from the Under-23s has signed a professional contract at Hertha BSC.
Berlin - Hertha’s academy has born more fruit. Maximilian Pronichev is the next in a long line of homegrown talents to have signed a professional contract with Hertha BSC. “Maxim really impressed with the Under-23s last season and will give Pál Dárdai another option in attack for next season,” said Michael Preetz. “He brings a clinical side in front of goal, which makes him a very exciting prospect. We are expecting big things from Maxim going forward.”
The Berlin-born Pronichev has Russian heritage and has worked his way through a number of levels within the Hertha academy. He moved to the Under-21 setup at Zenit St. Petersburg as a 16-year-old, before completing a loan move to Schalke 04. He then moved back to Hertha last summer. Pronichev scored 15 goals in 19 games for Ante Covic’s Under-23 side in the Northeast Regionalliga. “I’m really looking forward to taking the next step with my home club. I will do all that I can to prove myself in training,” said the centre forward.
