Davie Selke to miss start of season

The Hertha attacker will miss the start of the season after suffering a chest injury.

Davie Selke will be out of action indefinitely after suffering chest injury in training on Saturday (14.10.18). Further examination identified a pneumothorax injury, which guarantees the German forward will miss the start of the season.

Davie Selke: "It’s unbelievably annoying, of course. It makes me sick, if I’m honest. But there’s nothing that can be done, injuries happen in football. I need to get through it and come back as quickly as possible."

Pál Dárdai: "His absence obviously hurts us. We will pull through together as a team and I with a speedy recovery so that he returns to us soon."

Michael Preetz: "It‘s gutting for Davie because he had been working very well in pre-season. But as well as I know Davie, he’ll be back in positive spirits soon and will fight hard for a quick recovery. He did that last year as well."
