Palko Dárdai scored twice as Hertha BSC thrashed Aiginiakos FC 7-0 on Friday afternoon in Schladming.

Schladming – Pál Dárdai’s team played with a back three and pinned back the opposition. Our first chance came within a quarter of an hour, after having won the ball back, Vedad Ibisevic crossed it into Palko Dárdai, whose shot was cleared off the line. However, five minutes later our captain scored to make it 1-0 in the 20th minute. Dárdai then made it 2-0 with his second chance of the game, before a flurry of action saw Jastrzembski, Ibisevic and Ondrej Duda all miss opportunities to further the lead. However, Duda made up for his earlier miss by scoring a wonderful free-kick, shortly followed by Dárdai scoring his second, as Hertha went into the break 4-0 up.

The crowd in Steiermark continued to watch a game in which the Greek second-division side failed to create any notable chances. Pascal Köpke scored a quick-fire double, with Julius Kade and Salomon Kalou getting the assists. Muhammed Kiprit got himself on the scoresheet in the latter stages of the game with a well taken long-shot, with the game then ending 7-0. “The players have showed what we have been working on in training. The runs, the passing and the finishing was top quality today,” said Pál Dárdai, who was without Thomas Kraft, Per Skjelbred, Fabian Lustenberger, Lukas Klünter and Mathew Leckie.

The team will return to Berlin on Saturday.
