One more win to round out pre-season
One more win to round out pre-season

Hertha’s last pre-season outing before competitive football in 2018/19 ended with a 4-1 win over third division Hallescher FC.
Berlin- Hertha came through their final test of the summer with a convincing 4-1 win over third division Hallescher FC. Pal Dardai set his boys up to play three at the back, and pushing Maxi Mittelstädt forward into midfield played dividens immediately as was fouled in the area early on, allowing Vedad Ibisevic to slot home the penalty and give Hertha the lead. It was soon two, with the Bosnian club captain getting his second of the evening after Salomon Kalou had capitalized on a mistake in the HFC defence. The lead was tripled before the break, as Jordan Torunarigha anticipated a loose ball in midfield before charging into the box to draw another foul and another penalty. The second spot kick of the day was converted by Salomon Kalou.
The second half followed the same pattern as the first, as Hertha dominated. Valentino Lazaro slotted home number four from a counter attack, and Dardai’s boys remained in the ascendancy even after a host of substitutions. Martin Ludwig pulled one back late on to get Hallescher on the scoreboard.
“That was solid performance from our boys. It was good to see them all giving it everything and scoring goals after some lovely flowing football. That’s what we want to see on Monday too,” concluded coach Pal Dárdai. The Hertha boys now have Thursday off, before one training session a day for the next three days before competitive football starts again on Monday with the first round of the DFB-Pokal away to Eintracht Braunschweig.
Hertha XI: Jarstein - Torunarigha (46‘ Lustenberger), Rekik, Stark - Plattenhardt, Maier (68‘ Skjelbred), Duda (68‘ Dilrosun), Lazaro (68‘ Klünter) - Mittelstädt (49‘ Esswein), Ibisevic (59‘ Köpke), Kalou (46’ Dárdai)
Goals: 1-0 Ibisevic (7’), 2-0 Ibisevic (26’), 3-0 Kalou (36’), 4-0 Lazaro (51’), 4-1 Ludwig (81’)
