Marko Grujic signs on loan from Liverpool

22-year-old Serbia international moves on loan for a year from Anfield.
Berlin- Hertha have announced their fourth signing ahead of the new season. Marko Grujic has joined Pal Dardai’s squad from Liverpool on loan for one year. The 1m91cm new man will wear the number 15 shirt and can be used in defensive or offensive midfield. The Serbia international, who travelled with his country to the World Cup in Russia, also became a World champion at under-20 level with the nation against Brazil in New Zealand in 2015. Grujic started his career in the Red Star Belgrade youth team, and he went on to win the Serbian title with the first team.
“I am delighted that everything has come together. Hertha are a big club and I have always been excited by the Bundesliga. I had a few offers on the table, but none of them wanted me quite like Hertha. I had a positive feeling straight away after the talks. Now I want to show as quickly as possible that I can help this team,” said Grujic after putting pen to paper.
Sporting director Michael Preetz added: “Mit Marko we have got the man our midfield has been looking for. He is technically strong and with his defensive and offensive qualities, his physical presence and strong ability in the air he will fit in well here.”
