Successful start to the international break

Wednesday and Thursday saw the first Hertha players take to the field for their respective countries during this international break. Hertha youngsters are also hoping to make their debuts.
On Thursday (06.09.18), two Hertha players featured for their countries and both came away with wins. In League C, group 3 of the newly formed Nations League, Hertha keeper Rune Jarstein managed to keep a clean sheet for Norway as his home country overcame Cyprus 2-0. The result is Norway’s first win in qualification for the Euros in 2020. The Scandinavians could pick up another three points when they face Bulgaria in their second group match on Sunday (09.09.18, kick off 18.00). Valentino Lazaro and his home nation of Austria also hope to pick up their first qualification points when they face Bosnia-Herzegovina on Tuesday (11.09.18, kick off 20.45). Austria played out a 2-0 international friendly win over Sweden on Thursday evening. Lazaro came on from the bench in the 59th minute.
On Thursday afternoon, Javairo Dilrosun played for the Netherlands U20s side against Portugal. Hertha’s new man was subbed on in the 62th minute, in a game which turned out to be a goalless draw. On Wednesday, Ondrej Duda played for Slovakia against Denmark. The Danes showed little fight with a team formed partially out of Futsal players. Slovakia won 3-0 and Duda was subbed on with 30 minutes to play. On Sunday (09.09.18, kick off 15.00), Slovakia continue their quest for a Euros spot when they face Ukraine in group 2.
