“We can be pleased with our performance today”

Javairo Dilrosun, Vedad Ibisevic and Arne Maier share their thoughts following a dramatic draw in Wolfsburg.

Three games down and yet to lose – after the 2-2 draw in Wolfsburg there was a lot to discuss. The game’s top talking point was, without a doubt, the crazy last few minutes that saw three goals, a penalty and a VAR intervention. After the final whistle, Javairo Dilrosun, Vedad Ibisevic and Arne Maier gave their thoughts on the result.

Javairo Dilrosun: I managed to collect the ball on my left foot and fire it towards the bottom corner. I’m happy to have started today and got a goal. Hopefully I’ll keep this up. We could have got a win today if it wasn’t for Wolfsburg’s late equaliser. However, overall, the whole team can be pleased with the performance.

Vedad Ibisevic: Of course we’ll take a point, but today we really should be leaving with three. We shouldn’t have given away the second equaliser; it’s a real shame. Overall though, we played well and a draw is a fair result. I didn’t see the incident that lead to the penalty. You could talk about those kinds of decisions forever.

Arne Maier: I’m not sure if it was a penalty. Personally, I don’t think it was. My opposite man was waiting for contact and was trying to draw me into a foul. He went down, turned to the ref and waited for him to give a foul. It’s very annoying.
