In an interview with herthabsc.de, Javairo Dilrosun speaks about the good start to the season, his favourite TV programmes and FIFA duels with his teammates. The young Dutchman cannot wait to make an appearance in the Olympiastadion.

What come next for Hertha’s Dutch youngster? Since arriving in Berlin from Manchester City U23s, Javairo Dilrosun has only been going in one direction: upwards. The 20 year-old was in action for the Hertha U23s in the Regionalliga under Ante Čović in August but didn’t feature in either of Pál Dárdai’s first two squads of the season in the DFB-Pokal in Braunschweig and on Bundesliga matchday one against Nürnberg. However, just minutes after coming on, Dilrosun was involved in Hertha’s first goal against Schalke. He then received his first start in Wolfsburg and marked the occasion by giving his team a 1-0 lead. Dilrosun’s mood could barely be any higher right now. In an interview with herthabsc.de, Javairo Dilrosun speaks about the good start to the season, his favourite TV programmes and FIFA duels with his teammates. In addition, he had no doubts as to how high anticipations are ahead of a potential first start in the Olympiastadion.
herthabsc.de: Javairo, you’ve had an eventful week. How would you summarise your time in Berlin so far?
Dilrosun: The first months have been brilliant for me! I have come a long way already and have made my first start for the club. I was able to help my team with an assist on my Bundesliga debut and then in Wolfsburg last weekend, I scored on my first start for the club. That was an amazing feeling! I hope to have more special moments like this in the future and that things continue as they are.
herthabsc.de: After four matches, Hertha are still unbeaten. What have been the reasons for the strong start to the season?
Dilrosun: (Ondrej Duda comes over) Of course it is great that we have Ondrej in our team! (laughs) No seriously, we have a very strong team spirit and strong team chemistry. Everyone is in high spirits in training and this is really important to be successful as a team.
herthabsc.de: After you opened the scoring in Wolfsburg, you celebrated in a very special way: you held one hand in front of your face whilst crossing your middle and your ring fingers. What is this gesture?
Dilrosun: Everybody knows this gesture in Amsterdam, where I grew up. Everyone in my neighbourhood makes this gesture so I made it as I celebrated to represent the area I come from here in Germany. My phone was going crazy after the game, I got lots of nice messages.
herthabsc.de: As a team, you are undefeated so far this season, but alone, you seem pretty difficult to beat at FIFA. After you signed your contract with the club, you said you were invincible at FIFA, so have any teammates dared to take you on?
Dilrosun: (laughs) Julius Kade wanted to know how good I was but I defeated him. What can I say; I’m just a good FIFA player. Anyone who thinks they are good can challenge me but I will win (laughs).
herthabsc.de: Have you had a opportunity to explore Berlin?
Dilrosun: When my family visited, we went into Berlin a lot. It really is a beautiful city, the people are friendly and you can do everything here: eat, shop etc.
herthabsc.de: When you’re not with your colleagues at training or in town, you like to spend your free time watching TV series. What shows would you recommend?
Dilrosun: Most recently, I watched ‘Power’ which featured 50 Cent and I really enjoyed it. I also like ‘Shooter’ and ‘Queen of the South.’
herthabsc.de: Finally, let’s look ahead to the upcoming weeks: You assisted a goal in Schalke and then scored one in Wolfsburg. What will you do next?
Dilrosun: Hopefully I will be able to contribute more assists and score more goals. As a team, we also want to continue our unbeaten run. I am also really looking forward to finally standing in the Olympiastadion on Saturday for our match against Borussia Mönchengladbach (15:30 CEST) and to see our fans. I can barely sleep because of the sheer anticipation! (laughs)
