Eleven Hertha players on international duty – Dilrosun to face Germany

A number of Hertha players will be away with their national sides for the upcoming international break, with two players hoping for debuts.
Berlin – The third international break of the current season is approaching. 13 Hertha players will be on international duty, hoping to showcase their talent in friendlies and UEFA Nations League fixtures. Javairô Dilrosun could celebrate his debut for the Dutch national side, after receiving his maiden call-up for the games against France (16/11, 20:45 CET) and Germany (19/11, 20:45 CET). “I was training when the squad was announced. Afterwards I checked my phone, but nobody had rang me”, explained Dilrosun with a grin on his face. “It’s a great feeling and I’m so pleased – a childhood dream has come true!”
Valentino Lazaro and Rune Jarstein are both hoping to feature for their respective countries in the UEFA Nations League. Lazaro’s Austria are in need of three points in their Group B3 match against Bosnia & Herzegovina (15/11, 20:45 CET), before they hope to gain more points against Northern Ireland (18/11, 18:00 CET). Norway and Jarstein will be aiming to keep their place at the top of Group C3 in their two away matches against Slovenia (16/11, 20:45) and Cyprus (19/11, 20:45 CET).
Teammates battle in Prague
Vladimir Darida’s international break will begin with a friendly away in Poland (15/11, 18:00 CET), before faceing Slovakia in Prague (19/11, 20:45 CET), thus coming up against colleagues Ondrej Duda and Peter Pekarik. The two Slovakians will first face table-topping Ukraine at home (16/11, 20:45 CET). Both Czech Republic and Slovakia are under severe pressure, as Ukraine haven’t dropped a point yet in the group, maintaining a six and nine point lead over the other teams. Mathew Leckie will have to travel further for his two international games. The Australian will face South Korea (17/11, 09:50 CET) and Lebanon (20/11, 09:30 CET).
Two Hertha players in action for Germany sides
The club from the capital is also well-represented in the Germany youth sides. Dennis Jastrzembski will be in action first, as the U19s will face Portugal (14/11, 14:00 CET) and Armenia (19/11, 11:00 CET) in a four-nation tournament. Florian Baak and Pálko Dárdai have both pulled out of the Under-20 squad.
Germany U21s have two friendlies on their schedule against the Netherlands (16/11, 20:00 CET) and Italy (19/11, 18:30 CET) – Maximilian Mittelstädt is in the squad, but Arne Maier has pulled out. “We are looking forwards to playing against two top-class opponents and we are planning on trying out some new tactics,” said coach Stefan Kuntz. “A lot of our players have improved due to their increasing roles at their clubs. We would like to carry on their improvement.” The second Hertha debut of the break could come for Muhammed Kiprit, who has been called up to Turkey’s U21 for the first time for the friendlies against Scotland (17/11) and Hungary (21/11).
