The club will take part in the 10th anniversary tournament in Düsseldorf in January.

Hertha BSC fans won’t have to wait for too long during the international break to see their club back in action. The Blue-Whites will take part in the Telekom Cup for the first time on 13th January 2019 in the tenth edition of the tournament. The Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf will host the tournament and Hertha will be joined by hosts Fortuna Düsseldorf, FC Bayern München and Borussia Mönchengladbach at the tournament. The Telekom Cup takes place just before the second half of the Bundesliga season starts and it will be an entertaining spectacle.
The layout will help to create an exciting and varied tournament. There will be four matches, of which the first two will be semi-finals. The tournament will conclude with a third-place play off and a final with matches lasting 45 minutes. There is no extra time if a match ends in a draw with penalties determining the winner if this occurs.
The matches will take place in the early afternoon to attract families to the event. Alongside the exciting tournament on the pitch, spectators can look for to a variety of activities planned off the pitch too – especially for eSports fans. “The mixture of quality football and a varied programme of activities for families will help to make the Telekom Cup a special event ahead of the start of the second half of the Bundesliga season,” said Hiro Kishi, head of sport sponsoring at Telekom Germany.
