Grujic makes his comeback in a draw

The Berliners drew 1-1 with 2. Bundesliga side FC Erzgebirge Aue.
Hertha BSC played in a friendly on Thursday (15/11/18) against 2. Bundesliga side FC Erzgebirge Aue and drew 1-1 with Pascal Köpke scoring the only goal for the Berliners. Marko Grujic made his comeback from injury and completed an hour of football.
Both teams got going and were energetic, the Berliners had more of the possession and had the first chance of the game. After good work down the right flank from both Derrick Luckassen and Pascal Köple, striker Davie Selke had a shot saved by the opposition goalkeeper Robert Jendrusch. Only four minutes later, the goalkeeper prevented the Berliners again, this time Pascal Köpke having a shot saved. However, Aue struck first blood with Florian Krüger slotting home past Dennis Smarsch. The goalkeeper got his fingertips to the ball but was unable to keep the ball out. Köpke had another chance before the half time whistle but could not convert.

After the restart, Hertha BSC were once again on the front foot in search for an equaliser with Alexander Esswein and Per Skjelbred both coming close. Finally, the equaliser arrived when Pascal Köpke was able to place his shot into the back of the net. Hertha BSC remained the dominant team but were unable to find the winner as the match ended 1-1.
