Hertha BSC secured a second consecutive win on Saturday evening (08/12/18) as they beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 at the Olympiastadion.

Formation
Pál Dárdai decided to keep his team unchanged from the team that beat Hannover 2-0 last weekend and so continued with a 4-4-2 formation. The guests made one change to their starting line-up with Carlos Salcedo coming in for Marco Russ in their 3-5-2 formation.
Match Summary
The Berliners began the game well and controlled the early phases. The first chance of the game fell to the visitors as Sebastian Haller had an effort go wide of the post. Hertha’s first chance of the game fell to Marko Grujić as he skipped past his man and stung the hands of the Frankfurt keeper. At the other end, Rune Jarstein denied both Filip Kostić and Ante Rebić and was undisturbed for the rest of the half. The home side took the lead in the 40th minute through a bullet header from Marko Grujić, from a Marvin Plattenhardt corner.
The second half began in similar fashion to the first half, with Hertha controlling the game. Five minutes in, Davie Selke rounded the keeper and put the ball in the back of the net, but the referee ruled out the goal as Selke was deemed to have been offside. Only a few minutes later, Selke rounded the keeper again but this time the turf made the ball bobble and Selke’s effort was saved by the keeper, who had managed to get back. There were few chances throughout the rest of the game as Hertha looked to hang onto the win. Before the final whistle, Rune Jarstein once again was forced into action, making a good save to deny the opponents from finding an equaliser. The game ended 1-0 and was a huge three points for the home side.
Conclusion and outlook
Hertha BSC have now racked up 23 points and sit in sixth after winning their second win in a row. They will play next Saturday (15/12/18, 15:30 CET) against 15th placed side VfB Stuttgart away from home.
