Hertha BSC secure Torunarigha on a long-term contract

Hertha have extended Jordan Toruanrigha’s contract a year and half before the end of his existing deal.
Berlin – Great news for all Hertha BSC fans: The Old Lady have extended Jordan Torunarigha’s contract early just before Christmas. “Jordan is a true Herthaner. He has come all the way through our academy and has now established himself as a professional in the Bundesliga. We are all convinced that there is more to come from him and are delighted that he has chosen to spend the next few years with us,” commented Michael Preetz on Friday (21/12). The central defender was also delighted with the move: “I have a lot to thank Hertha for. I feel right at home here. The team and the club have developed well in the past few seasons. I will do everything I can to ensure that we carry on improving,” said Torunarigha.
The youth product made his Bundesliga debut for Hertha just over two years ago; when Pál Dárdai brought him on at the end of the 1-0 home win against Ingolstadt in February 2017. The defender, who has also played at left-back, has made 27 more appearances since his debut, also appearing three times in the Europa League and once in the DFB-Pokal.
