“Get together and win again!”

The players gave their views on the draw with Hannover 96.

Vedad Ibišević: A point is better than nothing. However, we didn’t get the result we wanted. We wanted to win no matter what. We had the chances. You can also imagine that our team is not sky high on confidence at the moment. It was a decent game otherwise. The news that Pál will be leaving at the end of the season, we had to process first. We want to finish this season as good as possible. For us, it’s about getting together as a team and winning a game again.

Salomon Kalou: We always sought out ways to get forward today and we pressed well from the front. If we had taken one of our chances, it would have been a completely different game. We played well together as a team and even if we didn’t get the goal we sought, we still made many opportunities. We have to take the positives and try to win some more games.

Rune Jarstein: It is nice that we were able to keep a clean sheet because we haven’t been able to do it for a long time. However, we should have won the game. We put in a better performance than against Düsseldorf. It’s just a shame we didn’t put the ball into the back of the net.

Lukas Klünter: We can be disappointed that we didn’t get the three points since we had good chances all the way up until the final whistle. It’s our own fault that we didn’t get a goal. We’ll take this point with us into the next game and try and get a win. We gave everything in the game. If you can’t get a goal then it’s pretty hard to get a win. Despite the result we’ll remain positive and go into the next game wanting the win.

Davie Selke: The feeling after the final whistle and the reaction from the fans was very good. It’s very disappointing that we weren’t able to get a winner today. The fans were with us for every chance so it’s slightly annoying that we couldn’t get the ball in the net. With this point we’ve taken a step in the right direction. It would have been perfect if we could have gotten the win, though.

Marko Grujić: It’s obviously frustrating. We really wanted to win the game for Pál today. He’s achieved a lot with this team and given so much, both as a player and a coach. The first 20 minutes from us were good. We pressed early and had a few good chances. Nevertheless there were things we need to do better. When we lose the ball we need to get closer to the opponents. However, on a normal day Salomon would have buried at least two of his chances today. Maybe we didn’t earn our luck today since we’ve been playing so poorly in the last few games.
