Opening match in Munich!

Hertha BSC will open the Bundesliga season away against defending champions Bayern München on 16^th August (20:30 CEST)! The first home match will be against VfL Wolfsburg.

Berlin – The stage is set: on Friday afternoon the DFL announced the fixture list for the 2019/20 season and have awarded Hertha a big match right from the start! The capital city club will begin the 57th Bundesliga season away against title holders Bayern München, with kick-off set for 16th August at 20:30 CEST. The first home game will take place on matchday 2 against VfL Wolfsburg in the Olympiastadion (23-26 September). “It’s an exciting first challenge to be able to open the season with a match like that. We are excited to play on such a big stage, but will have to face every team during the course of the season. We want to be the team that no one else looks forward to facing,” said Hertha’s new head coach, Ante Čović. After matchday 3 and the duel with Schalke (30th August - 1st September), there will be the first international break. Matchday 4 will see Hertha face Mainz 05 (13-15 September).

Inner city derby at the start of November

A highlight that the entire city will be waiting for will take place at the beginning of November. The Blue-Whites will face 1.FC Union Berlin (1-3 November). The second leg will be played in March in the Olympiastadion. On 9th November, when the capital city is marking the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Čović’s side will face RB Leipzig. Hertha will face Borussia Dortmund at home at the beginning of December (29th November – 2nd December).

Ending against Mönchengladbach

Hertha will end the first half of the season a few days before Christmas against Borussia Mönchegladbach (20-22 December). The Blue-Whites will start the second half of the season against Bayern München (17-20 January). The 34th matchday of the 2019/20 season will take place on 16th May 2020 against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
