A friendly friendly

On Saturday (13/07/19), Hertha will attend a tournament held by traditional friends Karlsruher SC as part of their 125 year celebration. In addition to the second-division side, Ante Čović’s side will also play against Austrian top-flight team Sturm Graz.
Paying a visit to a friend’s celebration is a normal custom in everyday life, and will now happen in football. Karlsruhe, whose fans enjoy a long-standing friendship with the Blue and White fans, have invited the ‘Old Lady’ to take part in a tournament at the Wildparkstadion to commemorate the 125th year since the club’s foundation. “When KSC are celebrating a significant year in their history and invite us, we have a responsibility to accept – not least because of the long-standing friendship that our fans hold with the Karlsruhe supporters. We’re looking forward to Saturday,” explained head coach Čović.
