As part of the training camp in Stegersbach, the Old Lady will play two preparatory games against well-known international opponents.
From 24th to 31st July, the Hertha team will be working for one week in their second pre-season training camp in Stegersbach, Austria. In Burgenland, Ante Čović’s team will face two well-known opponents: Fenerbahçe and West Ham United. The Turkish club, for whom well-known former Bundesliga players such as Mehmet Ekici, Max Kruse or ex-Herthaner Tolga Ciğerci now ply their trade, face the Herthaner on 25th July (KO 17:30 CEST) in the Profertil arena in Hartberg. The Premier League outfit, who finished last season in tenth place, will be joined by the Blue-Whites on 31st July (KO 18:00) at the Sonnenseestadion in Ritzing. "We deliberately looked for two very good, well-known opponents in order to be able to practice what we have studied over pre-season so far, under match conditions," said coach Čović, looking forward to the upcoming tests.
After returning to Berlin, the Hertha team will travel to London shortly afterwards. On Saturday (03.08.19, 16:00 CEST) in the English capital, the team will face another Premier League side: Crystal Palace.Roy Hodgson’s side finished the past season in 12th - two places behind West Ham. For the Old Lady, the duel is the dress rehearsal ahead of the start the competitive season, when Hertha play VfB Eichstätt the following week (11.08.19, KO 15:30 CEST) in the DFB-Pokal. Five days later, Hertha BSC open their Bundesliga season on Friday evening (16.08.19, KO 20:30 CEST) at reigning champions FC Bayern Munich.
