A home tie in the cup!

Hertha BSC have been drawn against Dynamo Dresden in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. The game will take place on the 29th or 30th of October 2019.

Just over a week ago, Hertha booked their place in the second round of the DFB-Pokal with a 5-1 win against Eichstätt. The draw for the round was made this evening, and Hertha will face 2. Bundesliga side Dynamo Dresden at home. “We’re very pleased that we’ve got a home game and we absolutely want to go through to the next round against Dynamo Dresden,” said Michael Preetz following the draw. Ante Covic added: “We’re looking forward to the home game in the Olympiastadion, it’s a great setting. We have respect for our opponents, but we’ll do everything we can to go through.”

The draw was made by Germany U21s coach Stefan Kuntz and former footballer Christoph Metzelder in the German Football Museum in Dortmund. There were 32 teams in two pots: 16 Bundesliga clubs, 12 2. Bundesliga clubs, two third division clubs, and two fourth division clubs.
