Herthaner helping out: 24 days, 24 good deeds

We take a look back at a whole advent calendar’s worth of good deeds.

The Christmas angels from 'Herthaner helping out!' were in action throughout Advent. Every day up until Christmas Eve, the helpers, together with players, coaches or partners and friends of the club, fulfilled wishes and helped in times of need, put smiles on faces and made both small and big dreams come true.

Together with the Blue and White Christmas team, goalkeeper Dennis Smarsch visited the Sankt Stephanus retirement home in Spandau. Vedad Ibisevic also visited the arrival centre for refugees in Reinickendorf, and Maximilian Mittelstädt was in a Tempelhof hospice. They all had gifts and donations ready for people. Marvin Plattenhardt, together with our U17s, surprised 17-year-old Elham, who had to flee Afghanistan alone at the age of 12 and found refuge in the SOS Children's Village and with Hertha fans. Rune Jarstein and stadium announcer Fabian von Wachsmann visited the residential group 'Fichten' to give presents and their time to the children, who for various reasons can no longer live at home.

Bringing generations together, spending afternoons together and providing advice and support: the IN VIA girls and women get-together in Berlin-Karlshorst has been an integral part of neighbourhood life for ten years now. The Christmas angels also visited this facility to do some good. Some very personal wishes also came true: Robert Elias wanted to be the stadium announcer. The 43-year-old is autistic with psychoses - and a big Hertha fan. Together with our stadium announcers Fabian von Wachsmann and Udo Knierim, his dream became a reality.

We collected a few of the best moments for you here.
