“We have to find ways to beat them!”

“We have to find ways to beat them!”

Jürgen Klinsmann and Michael Preetz both spoke on Friday at the press conference ahead of the away game against VfL Wolfsburg about changes in the defence, decisiveness up front and possible transfers.

38 days after the last away game against Leverkusen, in which Hertha managed to grab a 1-0 win, the team had to travel for the first time in this New Year. Hertha BSC will be looking to build on their unbeaten run in the ‘Autostadt’ which currently stands at 3 games. And both Jürgen Klinsmann and Michael Preetz both seemed optimistic about a result as they spoke at Friday’s press conference. "We've prepared a lot for this game and we want to create a lot more chances. We have plenty of respect for them but I'm also sure that we can find a way to beat them,” said Klinsmann who will look to grab points for the tenth time this season against Wolfsburg.

Unfortunately though, the coach will be without defender Dedryck Boyata for the game as he has accumulated too many cards and is therefore suspended. This will mean a change at the back and Klinsmann added: “Niklas Stark would be a logical replacement for Dedryck Boyata. Nik's been suffering with an infection recently, but he's got over it well. It's great to work with him - he implements things so quickly. He’s waited for his chance patiently, just like Jordan Torunarigha. No matter who we bring in at the back, we have a good feeling about it because they’re all class players!” Michael Preetz was also asked a few questions about possible transfers, to which he replied: “I don't want to rule anything out in terms of ins or outs, but I would ask that we be allowed another week to take stock and work something out. There have been so many transfer reports recently. It's nice for the fans but not for those responsible for bringing players in. We don't want to talk about players who aren't currently at this club." HerthaTV will have the full press conference.
