Hertha BSC sign Krzysztof Piatek

The club from the capital have signed the Polish striker from AC Milan just a day before the end of the transfer window.

Just a day before the window shuts, Hertha BSC have dipped into the transfer market to sign Polish international Krzysztof Piatek from AC Milan. The 24-year-old striker will join immediately. „Krzysztof is an incredibly dangerous attacker who has already shown his quality and eye for goal at the highest level in the Serie A with AC Milan, as well as with his national side. Our attack will immediately improve in quality with this signing,” said Sporting Director Michael Preetz on Thursday. He added that: I’m sure he will help us improve and develop as a team.” The new arrival also seemed incredibly happy with his move to Berlin: “I’m so happy that this transfer got done. The way this club is going really convinced me that this was the right move for me and I’m so excited to play with my new teammates. I want to contribute to this development with plenty of great performances and hopefully lots of goals,” said the Polish striker.  

A goalscorer for club and country 

After playing for Polish clubs Lechia Dzierzoniow, Zaglebie Lubin (85 games/18 goals) und KS Cracovia (65/32), the 24-year-old signed for Genoa in July 2018 to play in the highest division of Italian football. The new striker will be available to play straight away for the Blue and Whites of Hertha.
