Jastrzembski leaves on loan

Our own youth product will head to Paderborn with the expectation of gaining experience at a high level. He has also extended his contract with Hertha.
Dennis Jastrzembski has been in the blue and white of Hertha BSC since summer 2015. In 2018, he became the first player born since the turn of the century to sign a professional contract with the club. For now, the player is parting ways with Hertha for a new adventure in his young footballing career. The blonde-haired forward will spend the next one-and-a-half years on loan at SC Paderborn, in order to gain valuable experience and help Paderborn in their fight for Bundesliga survival. The youngster has, at the same time, extended his contract with the ‘Old Lady’. “Dennis is an able player, and we have every confidence in him. The hope is that, over the next 18 months, he gains as much experience of playing professional football as possible. So this loan move makes sense for all parties,” explained Michael Preetz on Friday (31.01.2020).

In the 2018/19 season, the 19-year-old made five Bundesliga appearances, as well as featuring once in the DFB-Pokal. The Rendsburg-born man has feature eleven times for Hertha U23s this season, scoring once. Until now, Jastrzembski has played 34 times for the U17s (eleven goals) and 52 times for the U19s (twelve). For now though, his footballing home is in Paderborn.
