The Capital Club have loaned Davie Selke to SV Werder Bremen on a deal lasting one-and-a-half years. Bremen have an obligation to buy, based on certain conditions being met.

On Deadline Day 2020, Hertha BSC loaned out a second player. Striker Davie Selke will join fellow Bundesliga club Werder Bremen on loan. The 25-year-old was under contract on the Weser between 2013 and 2015. Werder do have an obligation to buy, which will be triggered if certain criteria are met. “We want to give a massive thanks to Davie Selke for his unwavering commitment to Hertha, and we want to wish him all the best for his time in Bremen, both on and off the pitch,” said Michael Preetz on Friday (31/01/20).
Selke joined Hertha from RB Leipzig in Summer 2017 and was convincing throughout his first season in the capital. Hertha’s number 27 scored 14 times in 31 games in the 2017/19 season. The season after, he was a nailed-on starter with the ‘Old Lady’. The striker appeared in 30 of 34 Bundesliga matches in the 2019/19 season, and has made 19 league appearances this season. The Germany U21 international has made a total of 84 appearances for the club, scoring 19 and assisting 15.
