Berlin/Dresden – Pascal Köpke and eSports player Tom Bismark defeated Dynamo Dresden on the Playstation during Sunday’s ‘Bundesliga Home Challenge’ encounter on Easter Sunday (12/4/20), winning 3-2 overall.
Bismark got the better of his eSports counterpart Marcel Gramann 2-1 in the opening clash, taking the lead through Muhammed Kiprit after just four minutes. Matheus Cunha gave Bismark a 2-0 lead in the second half to seal victory (78’), although Simon Makienok pulled one back for SGD in the 83rd minute.
Köpke seals aggregate win
The second match-up saw Pascal Köpke take on Dynamo player Justin Löwe. Despite a number of first-half chances for the Old Lady, the visitors took the lead through Patrick Schmidt on the stroke of half time (43’). It didn’t take long for Köpke to level things though, as Cunha equalised two minutes later. Vedad Ibisevic and Marko Grujic both missed efforts in the second period, while Simon Gollnack hit the bar for Dresden with just seven minutes to play. With this duel ending 1-1, Hertha were able to celebrate a narrow 3-2 win overall. “I’m pleased that we managed to win on aggregate after two tight games. I would have liked to have tasted victory too, but I needed to take my chances for that. It was good fun though,” said Köpke after his ‘Bundesliga Home Challenge’ debut.
The fourth matchday of the ‘Bundesliga Home Challenge’ will take place next weekend, with all the details to follow in the coming week. Maximilian Mittelstädt and Elias Nerlich lost 12-7 to Freiburg last week, having defeated SC Paderborn 6-3 on the opening weekend.
