Hertha BSC packed and delivered supplies for Berlin nurses on Wednesday (22.04.20). The campaign was financed through donations by esports players on Nerlich’s donation livestream.
Berlin - An incredible 6012,13 euros were raised in just four hours on Hertha esports player Elias ‘EliasN97’ Nerlich’s livestream on Youtube on April 8th. Together with LVL, the new esports venue in Berlin, Hertha BSC’s esports academy organised a donation livestream, in order to keep supplying nursing staff with food packages.
With this amount raised, Hertha BSC have now continued their care package runs as part of the “Herthaners Help” campaign, and went shopping for again for the nursing staff in Berlin. The club want to provide some small relief for the people who every day do their best in the fight against the coronavirus and continue to stand up for our society.
Elias Nerlich filled the packages alongside esports venue LVL’s founder Thomas Fellger in the EDEKA supermarket on Königin-Elisabeth-Straße in Charlottenburg, and then brought the packages to the Division of Infectiology and Pneumonology at the Virchow-Klinikum Charité Campus. The helpers also had Hertha jerseys with “Thank you” printed on them for the staff at the hospital.
I’m very proud of my community and everyone who supported the campaign. This is a great thing,” said Elias Nerlich. “ Something like this helps immensely and does wonders for the mood,” said the nursing manager at the isolation ward, Thomas Klotzkowski.
A Second Delivery
At the same time, a second Hertha team packaged boxes at the EDEKA supermarket on Neue Kantstraße, surprising the nursing staff at the Vivantes Klinikum Neukölln as well as those at Vivantes Klinikum Am Urban. On Wednesday alone, they received over 300 bags of small treats. The campaign will continue in the coming week, then the supplies will be bought and delivered again.
Hertha BSC would like to thank everyone who made this campaign possible, everyone who financed the purchases with their donations to the livestream, as well as LVL and of course EDEKA.
