“Play to our best”

“Play to our best”

Bruno Labbadia and Michael Preetz spoke to the media ahead of the upcoming home game against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Berlin – After having a full training week to prepare for the matches against Augsburg (2-1) and Dortmund (0-1), Hertha’s home game against Eintracht Frankfurt (Saturday, 13th June, 15:30 CEST) will kick off a run of four games inside 14 days to conclude the season. Despite the recent loss to Dortmund – the first under Bruno Labbadia – Hertha have high hopes for the remaining fixtures. “We have been working closely together since day one and we want to continue playing good football until the end of the season. I’ve enjoyed the games so far, so we need to carry on like this and play to our best,” commented Labbadia on Thursday. He will be without long-term injury absentees Santiago Ascacibar, Javairo Dilrosun and Luca Netz, as well as Marius Wolf (ankle), Thomas Kraft (back) and Mathew Leckie (thigh). It’s not yet clear whether or not Matheus Cunha and Karim Rekik will be fit enough to play.

Advantage Hertha after Frankfurt’s cup defeat?

In contrast to Hertha, Frankfurt have had a busy week with a midweek DFB-Pokal match. The Eagles lost 2-1 in the semi-finals away to FC Bayern on Wednesday night (10/6/20). Will this prove to be a psychological advantage for Hertha? “I presume that Frankfurt will make a few changes, but I think they’ll play the same style of football, and their team will be used to a hectic schedule after their busy season. They play very intense football – which we want to as well!” summarised Labbadia.

Michael Preetz added: “Eintracht have shown that they can deliver when they need to this season. They played well in the cup and will take confidence from that. Nevertheless, we want to win the game.”
