Having fun with it

The hard work continued for the Herthaner at the Schenckendorffplatz on Tuesday (04.08.20).
Berlin – Work, then play is the motto that best summed up Hertha BSC’s training session on Tuesday morning. Even after the nearly two-hour long session was over, several players could not bring themselves to leave the pitch just yet. Instead, they took part in a spontaneous penalty shootout complete with loud jeers and cheers. “The team are working extremely well and are putting in a lot of effort, which is good,” Bruno Labbadia said following the session.
Klünter and Köpke sit out – Dilrosun returns
Lukas Klünter (back) and Pascal Köpke (muscle problems) both sat out today’s session. Meanwhile, Arne Meier took part in individual training with fitness coach Hendrik Vieth. Javairo Dilrosun, who did not take part in last weekend’s intra-squad friendly, has returned to team training. Hertha U23s coach Andreas ‘Zecke’ Neuendorf was also in attendance to observe Bruno Labbadia and his coaching staff at work. “Lukas has been dealing with some adductor issues over the last few days, which is why we decided on an alternative program for him. Pascal exited the friendly early, and we don’t want to take any risks, which is why he also not taking part,” Labbadia said. When asked about the decision to forego a preseason training camp this summer, Labbadia said, “We have the optimal conditions needed to work here, and the training grounds are top-notch. Travelling is difficult because of the Coronavirus, and is too much hassle. We did something similar in Wolfsburg as well!”
The Blue-Whites will continue to have fun and to work hard under the watchful eye of the coaching staff over the upcoming days, as they prepare for the upcoming season.
