Niklas Stark, Alexander Schwolow and Dedryck Boyata attempt to make sense of an eventful day in Munich.

The second half of Sunday’s Bundesliga clash with FC Bayern München didn’t lack drama. Despite Bayern taking a quick 2-0 lead after the break, Hertha came back and evened the game at 2-2, before equalising again to make it 3-3 with two minutes remaining. In the end, though, Robert Lewandowski’s penalty broke blue and white hearts in injury time. “We showed incredible spirit, we played a great match and came back two or three times, but unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of that,” said Alexander Schwolow. herthabsc.de sums up the reaction to the match.
Niklas Stark: Scoring three goals showed what we are capable of. In the end, we didn’t show the conviction to see out the game by any means necessary. Unfortunately, that means that we come away with nothing. At half-time, the coach told us that we should keep going and he showed us what we could do to improve. In the end it was a fight that demanded tactical discipline – something that we didn’t have enough of, unfortunately. We have to analyse this match so that in the future we do better in similar situations.
Alexander Schwolow: I'm still a bit speechless that we lost the game. We fought back two, three times actually and then didn't look good at the end when we gave away the penalty. We shouldn't have allowed them to get the cross off, and weren't set up properly to defend. I have to compliment the team for how we played tonight. We never gave up, delivered a strong performance and showed great spirit. Bayern didn't have a good day, but unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage of that. It's very, very frustrating.
Dedryck Boyata: We knew how difficult it is to play in Munich, but had a game plan. We came back from 2-0 down, showed great spirit on the pitch and can take several positives from the game. But, in the end we conceded four goals and lost the game. That's frustrating. Robert Lewandowski is a world-class player. We were playing against the best team and against the best players as well. Now, we have the international break before we need to start working hard the following week to prepare for our next game against Stuttgart.
