Löwen returns to Berlin!

Löwen returns to Berlin!

Hertha have ended Eduard Löwen’s loan with FC Augsburg. He returns to the capital to provide an extra option in midfield.

After half a year at FC Augsburg, the central midfielder returns to the capital and is available for selection immediately. Hertha reached an agreement with FC Augsburg to end the loan prematurely so that Löwen could return to the club. “Edu has been able to get lots of match practice during his time in Augsburg. That was the aim of the loan. Now, however, we need his physicality and power back at Hertha,” says Michael Preetz. “The half a year in Augsburg did me good, I played lots of games in the Bundesliga. Now, I’m really looking forward to being back in Berlin with Hertha,” said Löwen, who has been assigned the number 23.

The 23-year-old made 16 appearances for FCA in last season’s Rückrunde, scoring two goals and making one assist. The right-footer joined Hertha from 1. FC Nürnberg in the summer of 2019 and has made seven appearances for the club. In total, he has played 45 games in the Bundesliga and 43 games in the second division. Before his time in Augsburg, Berlin and Nuremberg, the 1.88m-tall man spent his youth career at clubs including 1. FC Saarbrücken and 1. FC Kaiserslautern.
