A new signing in training!

Mattéo Guendouzi trained with his teammates for the first time since signing on Tuesday afternoon (27/10).
Berlin – Ahead of the home game against VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday (1/11, 18:00 CET), new signing Mattéo Guendouzi was on the training ground for the first time since joining the club. The French midfielder was finally able to train after having to quarantine because of a positive corona test after the international break. “Mattéo is somebody who likes to spread the play out. He has a clear idea of how to play and is confident on the ball,” commented Bruno Labbadia. “We need him to integrate quickly and for him to get used to our way of playing. I’m confident that he will get enough time to get some form here.” The Arsenal loanee used the time in quarantine to prepare as well as he could. “We trained virtually with him twice a day, but he’s not touched a ball in two weeks, so it was important for him to be with the lads today.”
Three players training individually, Klünter missing
Bruno Labbadia’s side worked closely on smaller details with a standard programme on the agenda. “We want to continue doing what we did well against Leipzig and improve,” explained the head coach. “It’s important that we do what we’re good at and also work on the things that haven’t gone so well. We want to avoid making individual errors and we’re speaking clearly about things. It’s a process that we have to undergo together!”
Four players weren’t able to train fully on Tuesday. Jordan Torunarigha (partial syndemosis tear), Santiago Ascacíbar (muscular problems) worked individually, with the Argentine already out on the training ground doing some work with fitness coach Hendrik Vieth. Dedryck Boyata, who has a slight ankle issue, also only trained individually. Lukas Klünter, on the other hand, completely missed out with calf problems. Otherwise, Labbadia had a full squad to choose from.
