Daishawn Redan extends his contract and heads out on loan

Daishawn Redan has already shown what he can do in the Eredivisie, having scored six goals in 26 games for PEC Zwolle last season. The 21-year-old will now have the chance to add to his goals tally in the top tier in the Netherlands, as he will move back there on loan, this time to FC Utrecht. Hertha have agreed to extend the Dutch attacker’s contract until 2024, before sending him on loan to Utrecht for one year, who also have an option to buy him. “Playing regular football is massively important for players of his age, which is why we’re pleased that Daishawn can continue to get minutes in his home country’s top division despite Zwolle’s relegation,” explained Fredi Bobic on Monday.

The 1.76m tall striker joined Hertha from Chelsea’s academy in summer 2019. He has featured eight times for our first team and 13 times for our U23s, scoring five goals. Redan, who was also at Ajax’s academy before his time with Chelsea, played for FC Groningen on loan in 2019/20. The forward has represented all of the Netherlands’ youth sides from U15s up to their U21s, for whom he has featured for nine times, finding the net four times.
