From 13th November to 20th January, the Bundesliga will be put on hold for an extended winter break, due to the winter World Cup in Qatar. Hertha fans, however, won’t have to worry about missing their boys too much over this ten week period, as they will have an action packed winter schedule to look forward to. After the final match of the year against 1. FC Köln (12th November 2022, 15:30 CEST), the Hertha players who are not away on international duty will take part in a friendly tournament (19-20th November). The other clubs taking part in the tournament will be hosts SK Austria Klagenfurt, TSV 1860 Munich and York United from Canada. There are also friendlies planned for 26th November, 1st or 3rd of December and 7th December, the opponents for which are yet to be determined. After that, our lads will enjoy a well earned Christmas break from 8th December.
Guests at the IMG academy in Florida
The boys will then return on 2nd January for the obligatory performance tests. On 3rd January, captain Marvin Plattenhardt and the team will then jet off to the USA, where they will be guests at the IMG academy in Bradenton, Florida. Sandro Schwarz’s side will be at the academy until 14th January and they will use the facilities to work hard on their preparations for the return of the Bundesliga. Hertha will finally be back in action on 21st January with a trip to VfL Bochum (15:30 CEST).
