Gustav Christensen joins Hertha

Hertha BSC have completed the signing of attacker Gustav Christensen from FC Midtjylland. The 18-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract valid until 2027. “We’re pleased to have secured the services of Gustav, a talented and exciting winger, who possesses lots of pace, fighting spirit and determination. He’s performed exceptionally well over the years in youth football and shown how dangerous he is front of goal, as well as his overall potential. We’re confident that he will continue this development in a Hertha shirt,” explained sporting director Benjamin Weber.

Impressive statistics in youth football

Our new signing joined Midtjylland in June 2021 from Ikast FS, his hometown club. The versatile attacker mainly featured for FCM’s U19s, scoring 41 goals and recording nine assists in 55 league games. He was directly involved in 34 goals this season alone (31 goals, 3 assists). He also scored once in six UEFA Youth League matches.  The Dane also got a taste of first-team football, featuring once in both the UEFA Europa League and the Danish Cup, scoring a goal in the latter. Our new signing has represented his country’s youth sides too, working his way up from the U16s to the U19s. He has scored 15 goals in 25 caps to date.
