The ‘Old Lady’ have strengthened their midfield with the signing of Bilal Hussein from AIK Solna. The 23-year-old joins Hertha BSC with immediate effect and has signed a contract until 2026. “Bilal is a technically gifted player who is good on the ball and has a lot of potential to develop. We are pleased that we have managed to convince him to join Hertha BSC,” said sporting director Benjamin Weber. “I am looking forward to the task at hand and am up for the challenge here at Hertha. For me, it is now about finding my feet as quickly as possible at a new club, in a new country and in a new league so that I can help the team with my abilities,” said the Swede, who has played twice for the Sweden national team and will wear the number 8 shirt at Hertha BSC.
Born in Stockholm, the midfielder played 143 competitive games for Solna, 115 of them in the Swedish first top division, the Allsvenskan. He came through at AIK, playing for the first team at 17, and has also featured in the qualification rounds of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
